Klju\u010dni uzroci negativnih rezultata uklju\u010duju smanjene isporuke zrakoplova, pove\u0107ane operativne tro\u0161kove, \u0161trajk vi\u0161e od 33.000 radnika te dodatne tro\u0161kove u strate\u0161kim programima poput 777X i 767. Odjel za obranu i svemir tako\u0111er bilje\u017ei gubitke, unato\u010d prihodima od oko 5,4 milijarde dolara.
