Bacanje hrane je sve veći problem u Europi i svijetu. Europska agencija za sigurnost hrane (EFSA) i Hrvatska agencija za poljoprivredu i hranu (HAPIH) organizirali su edukativnu kulinarsku radionicu. Cilj radionice je educirati potrošače o sigurnom rukovanju hranom i smanjenju bacanja hrane. Sudionici radionice su na radionici učili kako pripremiti ukusna jela od ostataka hrane i tako smanje količinu bačene hrane. Podaci iz članka govore o tome kako se u Hrvatskoj na godišnjoj razini baci oko 280 000 tona hrane, odnosno oko 72 kilograma po stanovniku. Navedeni podatak potvrđuje Hrvatska agencija za poljoprivredu i hranu te Europska agencija za sigurnost hrane (EFSA). Iz naslova se može iščitati da je Hrvatska po količini bačene hrane u domaćinstvu, prva u Europi.
